Main Applications

R404A, as a widely used medium and low temperature refrigerant today, is often used in cold storage, food freezing equipment, marine refrigeration equipment, industrial low temperature refrigeration, commercial low temperature refrigeration, transportation refrigeration equipment (refrigerated trucks, etc.), freezing condensing units, supermarket display cabinets and other refrigeration equipment.

Refrigerant R404A is the most common industrial standard refrigerant (usually for low-temperature freezing systems) to replace Freon R22 and R502 in newly installed refrigeration equipment. R404A is closest to the operation of R-502, and it is suitable for all environments where R-502 can operate normally. R404A is recognized and used by the vast majority of refrigeration equipment manufacturers worldwide. However, because R404A, R502, and R22 differ in physical and chemical properties, theoretical cycle performance, and compressor oil, etc., for after-sales maintenance of refrigeration equipment initially equipped with R502 and R22 refrigerants, if it is necessary to add or replace the refrigerant, only R502 and R22 can still be added; generally, R404A cannot directly replace R502 and R22 (that is, a "blood transfusion" replacement is generally not possible).

 

Precautions

Refrigerant R404A cylinders are pressurized containers. During storage, they should be kept away from fire and heat sources, and direct sunlight should be avoided. They are usually stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse. During handling, they should be handled gently to prevent damage to the cylinder and its accessories, such as valves.

Refrigerant Oil for R404A

Commonly used refrigerant oils for R404A include: ICEMATIC SW32, SW220, EMKARATE RL32H, RL170H, etc.; the type of refrigerant oil used in different equipment and different applications should follow the recommendations of the refrigeration compressor and refrigeration (air conditioning) equipment manufacturer, or be determined according to the specific situation of the refrigeration compressor and refrigeration equipment used, i.e., using refrigerant oil with equivalent design and technical requirements, that is, selecting equivalent refrigerant oil
