Physical properties
R410A is a mixed refrigerant, which is a mixture of 50% R32 (difluoromethane) and 50% R125 (pentafluoroethane). Flammability, capacity, discharge temperature and efficiency are taken into consideration to tailor a refrigerant. R410A is colorless, not turbid, volatile, boiling point -51.6℃, freezing point -155℃; its main features are:
(1) Does not destroy the ozone layer. Its molecular formula does not contain chlorine, so its ozone depletion potential (ODP) is 0. The global warming coefficient value (GWP) is larger at 1730.
(2) Very low toxicity. The allowable concentration is the same as that of R22, which is 1000ppm.
(3) Non-flammable. The flammable polarity in air is 0.
(4) High chemical and thermal stability
(5) The water solubility is almost the same as that of R22.
(6) It is a mixed refrigerant, consisting of two refrigerants
(7) Not compatible with mineral oil or alkyl benzene oil. (Compatible with POE [ester lubricant], PVE [ether lubricant])
