Main uses:

It is used as paint solvent, metal degreasing, aerosol propellant, polyurethane foaming agent, mold release agent, paint remover and in the manufacture of safety film and polycarbonate. It is an excellent solvent. It is also used for the refrigeration of press refrigerators and air conditioners.

Storage and transportation:

Dichloromethane is sealed in galvanized iron drums, black iron drums or storage tanks (tank trucks), and the filling factor is not greater than 0.8. It should be stored in a cool, dry and ventilated place and comply with the relevant regulations of the People's Republic of China on the storage and transportation of dangerous goods by railways and highways. During packaging, storage and transportation, attention should be paid to check whether the lid of the packaging container is tight, and the closed packaging should not be penetrated. It should be kept away from fire and heat sources, and stored in a dry and ventilated place. Separate storage with edible chemicals and metal powders. Health hazards：

The product has anesthesia, mainly damage the central nervous system and respiratory system. The main route of human exposure is inhalation. High concentrations of methylene chloride have been measured in indoor production environments when methylene chloride is used as a paint remover. Doses are much lower in the general population through exposure to ambient air, drinking water, and food. It is estimated that about 80% of the world production of methylene chloride is released into the atmosphere, but the rapid rate of photolysis of this compound makes it impossible to accumulate in the atmosphere. Its initial degradation products are phosgene and carbon monoxide, which are further converted into carbon dioxide and hydrochloric acid. When methylene chloride is present in surface water, most of it will evaporate. In the presence of oxygen, it is readily biodegradable, so bioaccumulation seems unlikely. But its behavior in soil has yet to be determined.
